Discuss the disparity in educational technology advancement in schools of industrial First country (such as the U.S., England, Japan, Singapore, Australia) and a still developing country, namely the Philippines.
Since there is the lack of equality and similarity when it comes to the first countries and our developing country which is the Philippines, there is really a disparity when it comes to the advancement in educational technology. In the first country most of their students have technology in their classrooms among these are computer in classroom, class website, class blogs, mobile devices, smart boards, online medias and etc. This can cover up the processes and systems of learning instruction for students. In the mere fact that it can developed human capability.
The schools of industrial First country have the advantage in terms of modern technologies being used by them in their education. The above mentioned countries uses the most common source of information which is the internet. Every student in the other countries have their own PC or Laptops for online education wherein they need not go to school but instead they will stay at home and just answer those questions or test being e-mailed by their teachers. Unlike here in the Philippines we are behind of the advancement of the modern technologies to be use in our educational system. That's why some of the schools go back to the traditional teaching process especially those in the rural areas. There is really a disparity of the First countries and our very own country which is still developing. In this globally competitive world an individual should also go with the flow so one will not be left behind.
Our society needs to change the mindsets of their own first if all. There should be no discrimination between the blacks or the whites, or between the rich and the poor. The society should stand on one point where there are equal opportunities available to all the people. It will definitly overcome the disparity in the social class.
In terms of our educational equipment in teaching we are too behind rather than those country belongs to the first world country. it is because they are more industrialize in terms of technology advancement.
in public schools here in the Philippines, the ratio of computers to students is 1 computer per 5 students in elementary level. However, in most High Schools now, including the one i have graduated at, offers a 1:1 ratio. In the recent years, it has been a trend in Philippine public schools to change computers or upgrade the. Soon all will have their turn and use it in 1 is to 1 ratio.
About the college level, public universities do the 1:1 ratio, though there are restrictions and hours of usage.
Although we are belong to the third world country in terms of educational technology we are still knowledgeable about it.
Educational technology is the incorporation of Internet and other information technologies into the learning experience. This is a term that grows along with the advancements that are made in the field. Learning and teaching options have drastically changed thanks to the addition and utilization of technology in the education experience.
obviously, we can eventually see that philippines is really behind from those new technologies compared to the first countries mentioned above. new high technologies occurs first from those countries for they are rich in resources of which certain technology made. they have high standard education.unlike here in our own philippines. because they have a lot of devices which makes their education more faster. just like computers, most of students on that fisrt country has thier own computers so they can cope up easily from thier lessons and here in philippines we have to spend money and time to go internet cafe..however, it doesnt mean that our knowledge is behind from them. its just that we filipino's we are late bloomers because they have much more educational technolgy there.
Well, the first countries who evolved and well known on their advanced educational technology has really the advantage and the edge in terms of computer technology, the advantage is that they have the full, nearly perfect knowledge about this technology since it originated and developed in the first countries. True to reality, Philippines imports computers outside the country. Aside from this, few are those people who have the full knowledge about educational technology since it takes time to study here in the Philippines or it takes a lot of money to spend to study abroad...We Filipinos are not engaged or interested that much on educational technology, some are illiterate,. Much likely, we are engaged on how to gain power. We love white collar jobs. Aside from these, the first countries' government is much concern on effecting educational technology to their citizens while here in the the country, most of the government officials are corrupt and even some government officials do have blur knowledge about educational technology.
As a summary, Philippines' educational technology lacks support from the government, while Industrialized first countries do have a strong support from their government.
IN MOST of the developing (under-developed) countries the level of technology is very low. But there is no doubt that some of these countries have surely made some progress in this area, but most of them are lagging behind. In the middle east also agricultural techniques are no better than what they were centuries ago.
In some of these countries, as a result of the remarkable progress of science during the last two centuries, the gap in technology between the developed and the developing countries has grown much wide. The technological gap is much more than the great inequality in wealth that separates them; though the two are not related.
On the basis of the long cumulative scientific tradition, the advanced countries in Europe, USA also countries like India and China have made great strides in technological development which has led to a remarkable boost in productivity. While some of the latest technologies have now reached the least developed countries, it has only affected certain limited sectors of their economy and has not permeated their social and economic structure; the main fields of production are largely untouched.
We must note that mere existence of a wide gap in technology, itself presents the developing countries with a wide scope for advancement in this field. These countries can very easily accomodate age old store of tested technical and scientific knowledge from the developed countries.
Also, it is possible to achieve a fairly rapid increase in productivity in the developing countries by way of using relatively simple and inexpensive technological improvements, particularly in the field of agriculture.
Apart from this there are serious obstacles in any kind of general technological advancement in developing countries. The absorption of new technology in these countries is particularly difficult and costly process.
The first major obstacle to the general advancement in technology is the lack of an educational and administrative structure through which the producers learn the new technology. Another obstacle is the social structure of some developing countries; a radical change is required in the overall outlook of the people of the developing countries.
One major obstacle is the lack of capital, without which technology cannot be utilized or cannot bear fruits. Therefore, the adoption of technological improvements requires the use of capital goods which are in a true sense the carriers and embodiments of improved technology.
Assuming that the basic requirements are met, even then there are some special problems that arise in transferring technology to developing countries. These problems are briefly mentioned below:
1. The technology of developed countries requires frequent adaptation to the needs of developing countries. 2. The economic emphasis of experimental work is different in some developing countries from what it is in the developed countries. 3. The technology of developed countries cannot simply be transferred to developing countries. 4. Training is a must for higher personnel to plan and execute economic development; if it is not imparted correctly and effectively, it will be major bottleneck in economic development. 5. Plans for economic development need to begin with the expansion of the domestic institutions for training the personnel required at all levels; no development is lasting and durable or self-generating which is merely imposed from abroad, or imported from abroad; in this task, the training of technicians is relatively simple. More difficult is the training of administrators, since the quality required for successful administration is difficult to impart in any training institute.
Education is an important component of any nation’s development process specially when it comes to educational technologies. The schools of industrial First country (such as the U.S., England, Japan, Singapore, Australia) are the most progressive country in the world, however, Philippines is still a developing country because there are many experimenting with such technologies and related programs to expand educational opportunities for their populations .
Joebellefaith said... Education is very important nowadays, so as a student we must learn many strategies in order to progress the value of education here in the Philippines. In a certain reason we know that the advancement of education here in the Philippines are not enough and needs improvement. Obviously our country still developing because they us many program, strategy and technologies that can attain for their needs to expand the learning of a Filipino people.
The disparity of educational technology advancement in schools of industrial First country (such as the U.S., England, Japan, Singapore, Australia)are very much hi-tech.. The education technology in the First countries like USA,Japan,Singapore and etc. is advance compare to the Philippines. Increase in the use of new information technologies in education and training stands out in developing countries, like Philippines. This is helping with two essential elements of learning; (a) student-centered approach, and (b) developing non-cognitive skills. Although the traditional chalk-and board still has its merits, the new and more effective methods, such as multimedia sources, "Text2Teach" cell phone messaging, already being integrated into the class room, are making an impact. The contemporary teacher must be familiar with the new educational technologies for delivering quality teaching. I will discuss the use and benefits of technology in education, as applicable to enhanced learning and effective teaching.
we are really far from the said first country becausethey have enough resources in technology that is why they are advance in educational technology. In the philippines, we are really poor in technology because we don't have enough resources in technology that is why our education technology is lke a walk of a turle.
The advancement of technology is very important especially computers to us,so it is a must,it gives new information and more applications that we must to know. Our country is a developing country, we may consider it as a poor country, so it only means that our country is behind compare to the countries mentioned above but still trying to cope up this one. Even though were behind on this, education is very important to the student,we must have priority in this thing than to those technologies, we can also learn by the used of books and to the information given by our teacher.
Disparity in educational opportunities offered to children from different social classes—a situation that successive governments have tried to correct. The paper points out the need for Third World countries to ‘demystify’ technology and assume greater responsiblity for initiating educational innovations that are better suited to the economic and social realities of developing nations. The Philippines is one of many developing nations that have turned to information and communication technology (ICT) as a tool to improve teaching and learning. Unfortunately, implementation suffers from several shortcomings: the absence of information on how ICT is actually used; a lack of coordination between public and private sector efforts; and insufficient teacher preparation.Despite these conditions, the Philippines along with other developing countries in Asia, Africa, and South America are generally interested in educational technology, particularly in ICT, hoping that their educational systems reap the pedagogical benefits associated with it. Drill and practice or tutorial software, for example, individualizes instruction and provides students with immediate feedback.Students can proceed at their own pace.Internet connectivity enables students to access remote sources of information.
In order to attain advance education through the use of technology, equipment and gadget is highly needed. There must be complete and enough facilities not just in the school as required but also among individuals as possible. But Philippines was obviously behind among other countries. Though we are trying to be equipped like any other countries but we are still behind in terms of facilities. In other nation, EACH student has their own computer as part of their studies. Unlike in the Philippines, students depends on the computer laboratories which for them is guarantee that they will not spend much- which most students cant afford of having computer(really true!). Some cases also, we are very late in terms of education technology because it is the students who is not willing to be educated on computers bacause they thought that it's not a need either. They prefer to use traditional way of acquiring knowledge.
obviously first countries has a complete and hitechnologies that can make their acquitiation of learning or knowledge advance, compared to the developing countries such as Philippines where the education is slow because of lack resources and hitect gadgets use in learning.
Normally foreign countries that have been adopting the advance of technology have credited a great part on their lives specially they are well oriented about it..Philippines as well,is very much wanted to gain this kind of technology but due to lack of sources,,we aim only to the point that can be achieve. What matters most is were on our way to the list of helping hand in acquiring the greatest knowledge we could offer...
Through the advancement of Technology,we Filipinos are totally get affected because of the Facilities and processes that helps us enhance our skills and each of our talents through the influence by the Foreign countries who introduce the importance of technology and its significance to our lives existence.
education is the nation's key to a progressive country but then here in the Philippines we are slight far from other countries who really gives attention to the technology.Every filipino students often uses internet because one is the cost of it and second because of lack of budget coming from our goverment.the classrooms were not totally build...,technology pa kaya...no budget.
this five countries are very well known when it comes to advance technology. we all knew that they are rich and progressive countries, that they can provide for the advance technology in their schools for the welfare of their students. since Philippines is one the poorest country, definitely we are behind in technological innovations.
